The Fageralm lies in the heart of the Schladming-Dachstein hiking paradise. From gentle alpine trails to summit tours, everything starts right at the village.
On top of the hiking, there are 930 km of bike and e-bike trails, the Golf Safari with 4 courses and attractions such as the Dachstein Glacier with its Skywalk and the “Stairway to Nothingness”. Boredom is not an option in Schladming-Dachstein.
And after a day in the mountains? Fire up the sauna, light the grill and round off the evening on the terrace, looking out to the Dachstein. The Sommercard comes free for every guest in the village, with mountain lifts and attractions across the whole region.

In summer, the Sommercard (Schladming-Dachstein Card since 2026) comes free for every guest in the village. It is valid from the first night, from 13:00 on your arrival day until the end of your departure day, and is also available digitally on your smartphone.

Over 1,000 km of marked hiking trails, 930 km of bike trails, four golf courses and trips to the Dachstein with its Skywalk and Ice Palace. Much of it starts right outside your chalet door.
Yes. There are rentals and charging stations nearby. You can easily charge your own e-bike at the charging station in the village.
Yes, every chalet has its own charcoal grill. There is also a shared barbecue area in the village right by the playground, free for all guests to use.
The Schladming-Dachstein region has plenty for families. In summer that includes adventure trails, mountain lifts, swimming lakes, pools and family attractions, many of them free or discounted with the Sommercard. In winter, the family-friendly Fageralm ski area is right next to the village.
Yes, there is a small children's playground right in the village. The barbecue area for all guests is right next to it.
Yes. The nearest swimming lake is in Pichl, about 5 km or a 5-minute drive from Forstau. It has a large sunbathing lawn, a children's playground and various sports facilities. You'll find more swimming lakes and pools in Radstadt, Schladming and Ramsau am Dachstein, among other places.
